Kristina Makeeva aka Hobopeeba is a very talented, multi-awarded photographer born in Noginsk (Moscow region) in 1987, who had to leave her home country at the beginning of March, 2022, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She stayed with her friends in Cappadocia, Turkey, from where she started her UK Global Talent visa process. Kristina has been based in London, UK since December 2022.
She started to study the graphic editor Photoshop when she was 14 years old. Kristina had the first camera when she was 16 years old, and since then she has no idea how to live at least a day without making a single photo. Her photos are warm, fabulous, full of wonders. Photographer Kristina Makeeva is trying to show her viewer the beauty that surrounds us everyday in the simple things around.
Finalist of the 2021 International Open Call Competition organized by Florence Biennale, Art Market Magazine and Lens Magazine, she has won several awards, including the World Photography Awards 2021.

"Usually my work has nothing to do with news and political events. I dedicate my work exclusively to beauty. I am trying to save my viewers from the problems and news noise that surrounds modern human tightly, to let them enjoy pure art. It is for this reason that I try never to make a description of my works, often I don’t even give them a title, so as not to distract the viewer’s brain with information, to give free rein to his emotions. But 2022 was a very difficult year for me, unsettled me, penetrated my creativity. The events of last year resonated so strongly in my soul that I dedicated 2 series of photographs to them".
