WINNERS OF THE XV FLORENCE BIENNALE EXHIBITED AT THE ACADEMY OF THE ARTS OF DRAWING
The Winners' Exhibition of the XV Florence Biennale at the Academy of the Arts of Drawing — Florence, 10-29 January 2026
The winning works of the XV edition Florence Biennale will be featured in an exhibition hosted by the Academy of the Arts of Drawing (Accademia delle Arti del Disegno) in Florence from 10 to 29 January 2026, reaffirming and renewing a high-profile collaboration launched in 2021 between the Florence Biennale and the world's oldest academy.
This synergy represents an important opportunity to promto contemporary art and design, offering artists and designers awarded in the "Lorenzo il Magnifico" (Art) and "Leonardo da Vinci" (Design) competitions—conferred by the Florence Biennale's International jury—the opportunity to exhibit their works in a context of extraordinary prestige.
In continuity with previos editions, the XV Florence Biennale will once again bring together the first-prize winners from the various disciplines in competition—from drawing to painting, sculpture to photography, digital art to video art, and design—in an exhibition staged at the Exhibition Hall of the Academy of the Arts of Drawing. The venue overlooks Piazza San Marco and is part of the architectural complex that also houses the Accademia di Belle Arti of Florence.
The exhibiting artists include: Ella Baudinet, Paola di Dominicis, Jef Horvers, Jiang Miao, Luxarti, Michelle Gialanze, Mister Geez, Maria Pavlovska, Ramona Russu, Mia Segaert, Sue Schroeder, Stephanie Wallendjack, Wang Yiran, and Toria Ya Tuo. Alongside the prize winners, the exhibition will feature the particiaption of Gabriel Isak, Andrea Prandi, and Emily Young as Guests of Honour—leading figures in the contemporary international art scene.
Founded in 1563 by Giorgio Vasari under the patronage of Cosimo I de' Medici, the Accademy of the Arts of Drawing traces its roots to the Compagnia di San Luca, active as early as 1339 and frequented over the centuries by towering figures in art history such as Lorenzo Ghiberti, Donatello, Benozzo Gozzoli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo Buonarroti. Exhibiting in this context means becoming part of a centuries-old tradition spanning more than six hundred years of art history, establishing a direct dialogue between contemporary artistic research and great masters of the past.
Underscoring the significance of the event, the exhibition catalogue will become part of the official publications of the Academy of the Arts of Drawing, serving as a permanent record of this experience and securing the winners a place in the institution's historical memory.
