Reading Contemporary Art

Wednesday, 21 October / Thursday, 22 October - 10 a.m. / 12 noon

Fortezza da Basso, Spadolini Pavilion, Theatre Area

The educational project ‘Reading Contemporary Art’ at the Florence Biennale was created to bring primary, middle and high school students closer to the artistic expressions of our time. Thanks to the synergy with didactic directors, headmasters and teachers of Florentine schools, this initiative has been renewed for three editions.

The 10th Florence Biennale will welcome over three hundred students aged between six and eighteen, who will be able to explore the exhibition guided by curators and art historians who collaborate in the event and in the realisation of this informal learning project.

Our young visitors will thus have the opportunity to interact with artists from different countries, different cultures, and experience different modes of expression in art, and to ask the artists about their works. Through this opportunity, the adults will be able to immerse themselves in a creative, multicultural and multidisciplinary dimension, where the value of cultural diversity and its plurality of languages can be understood.

Participants:

Liceo Artistico Statale di Porta Romana, Florence
Ghiberti Comprehensive Institute, Florence
Arnolfo di Cambio - Beato Angelico State Secondary School, Florence
Sacred Heart Institute, Florence
