Last weekend in Florence for the exhibition of the winners of the XIV Florence Biennale: donation of a work by Elettra Cubeddu to Unicef
25 January 2024
On the occasion of the last opening afternoon of I Am You - Exhibition of the Winners of the XIV Florence Biennale, we are pleased to invite you to attend the donation of the work Leggerezza (Lightness) by Elettra Cubeddu.
This artwork, already on display in the exhibition venue of the XIV Florence Biennale, which also hosted the photographic project Can You Smile for Me? by Giammarco Sicuro in collaboration with UNICEF, will be donated by the artist to the Florence committee of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, in the presence of its president Dr. Olivia Castellino.
Born in 1965, Elettra Cubeddu is a self-taught Sardinian artist specialising in painting and sculpture. The fil rouge that binds all her production from 1995 to the present is delicacy, which can be found in all her work. The artist's latest experimentation focuses on recycling, particularly polystyrene, which she transforms through creative processes into art objects similar to cement and marble, giving fragile waste an eternal beauty.
The event will take place on 27 January 2024 at 5 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence (Via Ricasoli 68, corner of Piazza San Marco). Free entrance.
