Fortunato D’Amico

Fortunato D’Amico is an independent artistic curator. He graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan in April 1986, with a degree thesis, focus on Guarino Guarini, the Baroque and the symbolic analysis of the Sindone Chapel.


He has always been interested in navigating the multidisciplinary and multicultural nature of languages, passing through the territories of art, design and architecture, combined with philosophy, science, astronomy, life systems.
From 1992 to 2003 he worked for the architectural promotion of large projects and for the realization of exhibitions and conferences for the Marazzi Group.

For television he produced, between 2004 and 2007, the television broadcasts: L’Archibalena and I Talents. For the newspaper La Stampa, from 2010 to 2018, he directed the WEB version of the blog culturanatura (https://www.lastampa.it/blogs/culturanatura).
He is one of the organizers and promoters of the Dedalo Minosse International Prize to the Client of Architecture and the Vergilius d’Oro of Mantua, an event dedicated to the multidisciplinarity of architecture and art.
In 2012 he was curator of the MaCS – Mazda Contemporary Space in Milan.
From 2013 to 2018 he was the curator of the artistic exhibition Natura Contemporanea, at G.A.M. Gallery of Modern Art of the Genova Nervi Museum.

 

He writes essays and takes care of the drafting of catalogs. It organizes exhibitions and cultural events, in Italy and abroad, where the arts are at the center of the responsible social, environmental and economic transformation. He has participated as a speaker in hundreds of conferences.
In 2018 he curated the cycle of 10 meetings, entitled The long ’68 of Art, at the Polo del ‘900 in Turin.

He is one of the curators of the Pistoletto-Cittadellarte Foundation.
