Art Comes Before : Dialoghi in collaboration with Lory Digital Fine Art

Art Comes Before, an online gallery devoted exclusively to contemporary photography, makes its debut at the XV Florence Biennale with “Dialoghi” (Dialogues) — an exhibition in collaboration with Lory Digital Fine Art, a Florentine workshop that has specialised over the years in providing fine art printing services for digital artists of all kinds and serving as the technical partner of the Florence Biennale.

As a Italian virtual gallery, Art Comes Before brings together work of both emerging and established photographers from around the world who have stories to tell and a desire to contribute to the evolution of the contemporary photograph. The gallery’s participation of the Florence Biennale is dedicated to the memory of a friend — Manfredo Pinzauti —who recently passed away and would surely have shared his project, “Onirica Milano”, with the public with great enthusiasm.

Lory Digital Fine Art, founded in 2015, is located in the historical centre of Florence. Its certification of Canson Infinity has guaranteed its state-art-of-the-art technology and high quality printing. The workshop is part of Cartoleria Lory, which together with the printing centre extends the perimeter of its services in the field of digital printing.

The collaboration aims to bring photographic art into the spotlight, offering artists selected by the gallery the opportunity to grow within the world of art, following clearly defined principles: Limited editions of works, High quality standard in printing and presentation of projects, NFT certifications to guarantee authenticity and security for buyers, Customer service that is attentive, continuous, and personalised.

To realise the “Dialoghi” exhibition, Art Comes Before selected four of Manfredo’s works — already part of its collection — as a tribute to him. In addition, the gallery invited its photographers to develop their personal interpretations inspired by the “Onirica Milano” project and the theme of the XV Florence Biennale “The Sublime Essence of Light and Darkness. Concepts of Dualism and Unity in Contemporary Art and Design.”

"In this exhibition, the interplay between different artistic interpretations becomes a collective work, where the sensibilities of each photographer intertwine, giving rise to an open, fluid, and everevolving dialogue. The works present an arbitrary deconstruction of the world around us—from the human beings to nature, from urban geometries to the most intimate thoughts. Amid the frenzy of our time, each expression, though in different ways, reflect the relationship between light and darkness in the human soul, creating an intimate dialogue between reality and dream”.
