Slowtile by Made in Sipario, a sustainable and social responsibility collaboration. Born in Florence in 2018, Slowtile emerged from a meeting between the Special Artists of the Social Cooperative Made in Sipario and the architect Leone Pecchioli. The project combines creativity, freedom, and innovation. The main aim of the project is to create real job opportunities for the disabled community that can adjust to their needs and ways. The project is rooted in the Florentine community. Our "special artists" fill sheets of paper with drawings and colors as a way to let loose their creativity and create something beautiful and one-of-a-kind. These drawings and gestures are transferred on handmade terracotta: this way, their visions come to life in something more tangible and long-lasting. We have created a collection of decorated tiles that expresses, in eight different "gestures/decorations", all their special, original and unique creativity. To this are now also added the "Clouds", a mix of tones and formats, each of which is manually immersed in the enamel base - piece by piece - by the Special Artists, allowing "free" use on any surface, always resulting refined on all sides. SlowTile is sustainable: we only produce the required quantities without surpluses, avoiding unnecessary waste.
