Ricardo Juárez and the School of Rancagua - FB
Ricardo Juárez is an artist from Pergamino, Argentina, where he founded the Rancagua School. He participated in the Florence Biennale in 2011 and 2013, and on the latter occasion won the first “Lorenzo il Magnifico” Award for painting. Since 2015, he has been a member of the International Selection Committee of the Florence Biennale. He studied at the Pergamino Municipal School of Fine Arts and won scholarships with important local artists during his training. He has exhibited in Latin America and Europe. He prefers oil painting, a technique that allows him to experiment with textures and colours, always generating new effects. His works have nature and its relationship with man as their main theme, drawing inspiration from his home town, Rancagua, in the province of Buenos Aires, which is distinguished by its landscape of vast plains, fields and countless colours in the earth and sky. This everyday landscape offers the artist moments of deep reflection that are manifested in his paintings. In virtue of this homage to his homeland, Juárez founded the School of Rancagua, to which some of the artists exhibiting with him at the XIV Florence Biennale belong.
