“I AM MAHSA”:
WOMEN LIFE FREEDOM
On the occasion of its XIV edition, the Florence Biennale dedicates an exhibition space to the “Women's Revolution” through the selection of works by Iranian artists, in moral support of the ongoing demonstrations in Iran and condemnation of repressive actions against the people. The space is named after Mahsa Amini, whose death has become a symbol of the Iranian people's revolution whose motto is "Women, Life, Freedom" and which has now extended to the whole world.
The project involves more than 20 Iranian artists exhibiting more than 30 artworks, and has been developed in collaboration with ME Art Group, Centro Internazionale per la Pace fra i Popoli e Fondazione Robert F. Kennedy. Involved artists include: Elham Angell, Partin Bastan, Hanieh Eshtehardi, Marjan Jafari, Mehrdad Sedaghat Baghdani, Maryam Sedighi Jafari, Alaleh Shakouri, Azade Shirmast, Nobahar Sogand e Samaneh Vahabi. Other involved artists needed to remain anonymous for their safety and that of their families.
