FB

The twelfth edition of the Florence Biennale – International exhibition of contemporary art and design, held from 18 to 27 October 2019 at the Spadolini Pavilion of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, hosted 747 exhibitors (484 artists and 263 designers) from 78 countries, and ended, as usual, with the awarding of prizes to the best exhibitors.

The participating artists have competed in 12 categories (Drawing, calligraphy and graphic art, Painting, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Ceramic Art, Textile & Fiber Art, Jewellery Art, Photography, Multimedia Art, Video Art, Performance Art, and Art installation) to obtain the prestigious  “Lorenzo Il Magnifico” International Award.

The participating designers, on the other hand, were competing for the “Leonardo da Vinci” International Award, divided into 6 categories (Architecture & Town Design, Industrial & Product Design, Interior Design, Fashion & Jewellery Design, Communication & Graphic Design, and Technology & Game Design).

The winning artists and designers have been selected by two International juries, one for art and the other for design, made up of important personalities in the two sectors, who have carefully examined all the works on display at the XIIth Florence Biennale
