Florentine Perspectives
Organised and promoted in synergic collaboration by the associations ‘Pinocchio di Carlo Lorenzini’, ‘Per Boboli’, ‘Giambos’ and Florence Biennale, the meeting ‘Prospettive Fiorentine’ will take place on Wednesday 10 June 2015, 5 p.m. at Palazzo Capponi, via dei Bardi n° 30, Florence.
After its presence at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010 with the Pinocchioworld project, the ‘Pinocchio di Carlo Lorenzini’ cultural association is now presenting a series of meetings and events in the context of EXPO Milan, though preferring the places of its native Florence, where ‘The Adventures of Pinocchio’ seem never to end.
The opportunity to relive them will be given on Wednesday, 10 June, at 5 p.m. at Palazzo Capponi (Via dei Bardi no. 30) on the occasion of the meeting called ‘Prospettive Firentine’, sponsored by Toscana Expo Milano 2015 and included in the association's programme for the valorisation and promotion of the historical paths related to the famous book The Adventures of Pinocchio, which has now become a milestone of Italian literature, so much so as to be the most translated text in the world after the Bible and the Koran.
Accompanying us on a fascinating journey through the places of the famous puppet and the discovery of our artistic, cultural and landscape heritage will be the most representative Florentine realities of the various areas involved: Florence Biennale, the largest international contemporary art exhibition in Florence, the ‘Giambos’ association engaged in the promotion of cultural exchanges between China and Italy, and finally the ‘Per Boboli’ association that has been working for years to enhance the Boboli Gardens.
During the event, a preview of the book Il Misticismo delle Forme edited by Andrea Dari will be presented.
At 7.30 p.m., the meeting will move to the atelier of the Florentine master of sculpture and goldsmith's art, Alessandro Dari (Via San Niccolò 115 red), who for the occasion will represent the ‘Pinocchio workshop’ par excellence. The artist will present a preview of his evocative contemporary jewellery creations inspired by the metamorphoses of Pinocchio.
The project highlights the commitment of the ‘Pinocchio di Carlo Lorenzini’ association to the recovery and revaluation of excellent craft workshops through specific initiatives and events in Italy and abroad.
