The "Art Suite" project launches with the first exhibition by "Flóra Borsi. Animeyed"
Anglo American Hotel Florence – Curio Collection by Hilton hosts Flóra Borsi. Animeyed, an exhibition curated by Florence Biennale, on view from September 10 to October 10, 2026. Preview on September 9, with the artist in attendance.
Florence, September 1, 2026 – With the exhibition Flóra Borsi. Animeyed, Florence Biennale launches Art Suite, a new project conceived and curated in collaboration with Anglo American Hotel Florence – Curio Collection by Hilton, with the aim of bringing contemporary art into hospitality spaces and creating a dialogue between the exhibition experience, hospitality, and the private dimension of looking.
Running from September 10 to October 10, 2026, the exhibition presents a selection of ten works from the celebrated Animeyed series by Hungarian artist Flóra Borsi, Guest of Honour of the XIII Florence Biennale, dedicated to the theme Eternal Feminine | Eternal Change. Concepts of Femininity in Contemporary Art and Design. The artist will attend the inaugural preview on September 9 at 6:30 pm, by invitation only.
In the Animeyed series, the human face meets the animal gaze in images suspended between self-portrait, metamorphosis, and identity, giving rise to a visual world of striking symbolic intensity. Through a refined construction of the image, Borsi explores the relationship between inner life and outward representation, between nature and identity, between reality and imagination.
Among the works on display are Swan, Black Swan, Chameleon, and Flamingo, images that formed the coordinated visual identity of Florence Biennale 2021 and now return in dialogue with a new exhibition setting.
Alongside the section open to the public, a copy of one of the works will be on view exclusively inside a Suite, reserved for hotel guests: it is from this relationship between exhibition space and private dimension that the project's evocative title, Art Suite, was born.
Flóra Borsi is a contemporary artist working with photography and image construction. Through meticulously crafted self-portraits, she explores identity, perception, emotional vulnerability, and the relationship between the human being and the natural world, blending photography, performance, and digital image-making to blur the line between reality and imagination.
Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe and the United States, including at the Louvre in Paris, and in solo shows at Lanoue Gallery in Boston and Anna Laudel in Düsseldorf, and is held in museum and private collections around the world. Named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Borsi was chosen as Hasselblad's first-ever Heroine of the Year and is the winner of the Lorenzo il Magnifico President's Award at Florence Biennale. Her work has also been featured by BBC Culture and The Guardian's Observer. She has collaborated with Adobe as well, creating the global image for Adobe Photoshop and the visual identity of Adobe Creative Cloud.
With Art Suite, Florence Biennale continues its ongoing collaboration with cultural, institutional, and business partners across the region, creating further opportunities for contemporary art to meet international audiences within the symbolic settings of Florentine hospitality — building toward the event's 30th anniversary, marked by its XVI edition in 2027.
The September 9 opening will include a welcome reception for guests, featuring a selection of delights from the Anglo American Hotel's kitchen alongside artisanal treats by Leonardo Biscotti, a historic Florentine confectionery and a partner of the project, together with Pineider Firenze, a maison of excellence in fine paper, Florentine leather goods, and luxury writing instruments with over two hundred years of history.
For each exhibition, Anglo American Hotel will add a dedicated signature cocktail to its menu, created exclusively and available to guests throughout the month, further strengthening the dialogue between art, hospitality, and mixology.
