ACADEMY OF THE ARTS OF DRAWING: EXHIBITION OF THE 13 WINNERS OF THE XIII FLORENCE BIENNALE

SATURDAY 13 NOVEMBER AT 11 A.M. (PRESS PREVIEW) AND 5 P.M. (OPENING TO THE PUBLIC)

The 13th edition of the Florence Biennale, international exhibition of contemporary art and design, continues with a special event that brings together the works of the winners of the "Lorenzo il Magnifico" International Award in a unique and prestigious space: the Academy of the Arts of Drawing. One of the novelties of the 13th edition of the international kermesse, which ended on 31 October, is in fact the "Exhibition of the winners", a parade of the works that have won the first place awarded by an International Jury in their respective categories. In addition, the "Visitor Award", which for the first time has been awarded using a technologically advanced popular evaluation system in cooperation with Fynd.art, an Austrian platform for the promotion of art, with over 20,000 votes. The work of the winner of the "Award for the Best Emerging Artist" awarded by the event's International Jury will also be on show. The award is in collaboration with Idoneus, main sponsor of the XIII Florence Biennale, thanks to which the artist will also receive $20,000 in idon tokens.

The exhibition will be set up in the spaces of the Academy of the Arts of Drawing - in via Orsanmichele 4 in Florence - will open on Saturday 13 November at 5 pm, and will continue until Saturday 4 December 2021, always with free admission.

Based in Palazzo dei Beccai, just a few metres from the Church and Museum of Orsanmichele, the Academy of the Arts of Drawing, now presided over by Crsitina Acidini, is the oldest art academy founded by a public authority in the world. It was in fact Cosimo I de' Medici who wanted it to be founded, at the suggestion of Giorgio Vasari and Vincenzo Borghini, while the first academic master was Michelangelo Buonarroti.

The media preview is scheduled for Saturday 13 November at 11 am: Jacopo Celona (General Director of the Florence Biennale), Cristina Acidini (President of the Academy of the Arts of Drawing), Giovanni Cordoni (Event manager and member of the Florence Biennale Curatorial Committee) and some of the award-winning artists will be present.
