Conference ELIA: Renascent Creativity
RENASCENT CREATIVITY: Towards a European path in Arts and Cultural Education
Saturday, 17 October - 3.00 p.m. / 6.30 p.m.
Fortezza da Basso, Spadolini Pavilion, Theatre Area
RENASCENT CREATIVITY: Towards a European Path in Arts and Cultural Education is a conference based on the theme of the renaissance creativity of the new generation in the arts and the importance of European youth mobility in the future education of the arts and artistic professions. The conference, with a highly scientific-cultural profile, is inspired by a re-examination of the phenomenon of the Renaissance and the way it recurs in the many different cultures and artistic movements.
Through the debate, participants will be able to reflect on their experiences in order to reach the top of innovation with a creative approach and provide concrete and long-lasting results as well as useful tools for young Europeans to meet the needs of the creative industries market.
The conference precedes the 14th ELIA Biennial Conference - European League of Institutes of the Arts - to be held in Florence from 30 November to 3 December 2016. ELIA is the leading international network of all major public and private institutes and universities in the field of the arts. The network represents, on a professional level, professors, directors and collaborators working in about 350 schools and institutes of higher education from 47 different countries with a catchment area of more than 250,000 students.
The main themes of the conference are:
- European mobility and planning
- Teaching practices in the field of the arts
The event is open to members of the scientific-cultural community: professors, lecturers, students, freelancers, members of institutions, associations and companies working in the arts (fine arts, drawing, music, theatre, dance, etc.) and culture, government policy makers and people interested in directing the development of the creative industries.
