Author of various essays, articles, and books about mass media (published by Treccani, Utet, Rai-Eri, Electa, and Costa & Nolan), he has written articles about contemporary art for Exibart magazine and has worked for several publishing projects, such as exhibition catalogues and Garzanti encyclopedias. He has collaborated for a long time with Peppino Ortoleva, working as broadcasting director and editor at RAI Radio 3, and as a project manager and curator for important exhibitions, such as ‘Luci del teleschermo’ (Turin, 2004-2005), ‘Radio FM 1976-2006’ (travelling exhibition, 2006-2007), and ‘Anni Settanta. Il decennio lungo del secolo breve’ within the framework of the Triennale di Milano (Milan, 2007-2008). Giovanni Cordoni has also collaborated with Accademia della Crusca and has taught at the Università Cattolica di Milano, IULM, Università dell’Aquila, and Polimoda International Fashion Institute in Florence.

Since 2009 he has been collaborating with the Florence Biennale as curator of educational projects and editor of the catalogue. Since 2016 he is also in-charge of the organising secretariat.
