Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dr. Teresa Mular is an independent filmmaker, writer, and producer. Raised and educated in her hometown, she earned her medical degree at the age of 23. Alongside her medical education, she also studied piano and voice at the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires.

To further pursue her medical career, she moved to the United States, where she trained at Downstate Medical Center at the State University of New York. By the age of 35, she had become an Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology. From 2014 to 2015, she served as President of the prestigious New York Gynecological Society.

It was not until 2019 that Dr. Mular began her second career as a cinematographer. Her debut film, "Flying on the Wings of Time" (2011), was screened at the Florence XXXIV International Women's Film Festival in 2012 and later won Best Foreign Language Documentary at the International Cinema Awards in Milan (2018). Among her most notable films are "Surreal Reality" (2021) and "Extreme Reflections" (2021). The former explores the far-reaching impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, both globally and in the New York area where Dr. Mular lives and works, offering an intimate portrayal of frontline workers at a community hospital. "Extreme Reflections," meanwhile, follows the lives of two cellists from vastly different generations: a 101-year-old American-Russian and a 13-year-old child prodigy from Detroit. Both films have received numerous awards and international recognition across Europe, the United States, and beyond. Over the years, she has produced more than 10 works, including films, documentaries, and comedies, receiving accolades across America, Europe, and Asia.

In 2021, Dr. Mular was invited as Guest of Honour at the Florence Biennale, where her film "Can't Stop the Sun from Shining" was awarded the Lorenzo il Magnifico Gold Medal. Four years later, in 2025, she returned with her new film "Tango en Penumbras" (Tango in Twilight, 2024), which premiered nationally at the XV Florence Biennale and had previously received multiple nominations and awards in Tokyo, Brazil, and the United States.
