Florence Biennale, in collaboration with Tenuta di Artimino, is glad to announce the project “Wine Art Photography – The Sense of Wine”, in order to involve emerging and established names of Fine Art Photography in a international project.
ORGANIZATION AND LOCATION
The Florence Biennale, in collaboration with Tenuta di Artimino, is pleased to promote an open call with the aim of offering photographers, whether established or not, the opportunity to exhibit their photographic projects in a prestigious context rich in history, Artimino, at first an important Etruscan settlement, then a Medieval village and finally the beloved place chosen by the de’ Medici family, for the construction of one of their most important villas, “La Ferdinanda”. The group exhibition will take place inside the Barrels Room, from 15 to 18 April 2021, creating a direct line between the environment dedicated to the aging of wine.
THEME: THE SENSES OF WINE
The taste and the scent of wine can be represented through photography? You can photograph the feelings related to his tasting? And the feelings come from it? What are the senses (in terms of perception) of the wine? And what is, more generally, the meaning of wine? The grapes and the vineyards, the harvest, the moment of the tasting and all social occasions related to its production and to its consumption are just some of the dimensions that can figure out, through images, “the sense of wine”. Candidate photographers are called to investigate these dimensions, remembering Salvador Dali words: “True connoisseurs do not drink wine: they taste secrets “.
