Reading Contemporary Art
Wednesday, 21 / Thursday, 22 October – h 10.00 am / 12.00 am
Fortezza da Basso, Spadolini Pavilion, Theatre Area
The educational project “Reading Contemporary Art” at the Florence Biennale has been designed to engage the students attending primary, secondary and high schools with the art forms of our time. Thanks to the synergy with the directors, principals, and teachers of Florentine schools, this initiative has been promoted for three editions of our biennial.
The Xth Florence Biennale is going to welcome more than three hundred students of six to eigtheen years of age. They will have the chance to explore the exhibition path with the guidance and assistance of the curators and art historians who have collaborated to the realisation of this informal learning project within the framework of the Florence Biennale.
Our very young visitors will thus be able to interact with artists from different countries – who have different cultures and use different forms of artistic expression – and ask questions about their works and media. Taking this opportunity, tomorrow’s adults will experience a creative, multicultural, and multidisciplinary environment, where it is possible to understand the value of cultural diversity and plurality of languages.
