With the awards ceremony of the winning artists in the various categories, the tenth edition of Florence Biennale – International exhibition of contemporary art in Florence –was concluded. More than 1,300 works in exhibition, made by 423 artists from 62 countries, were admired, discussed, commented by about 10 thousand visitors who have accepted the invitation of the organization. Much applause for the artists presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Marta Minujín, Mario Carbone and Giampaolo Talani, as well as the real star of this edition, the young Iranian artist (Living in California, USA) Morehshin Allahyari, who presented the realization of a copy in resin of one of the sculptures destroyed by the blind and iconoclast fury of ISIS, attracting the attention of visitors and the media over her work.
After a long process of evaluation, the jury – composed of Elza Ajzenberg, Dominique Baechler, R. B. Bhaskaran, Francesco Buranelli, Pasquale Celona, Naoki Dan, Huang Du, Karen Lang, Gregorio Luke, Maty Roca, and Enrico Vergnano – conferred the International “Lorenzo il Magnifico” Award to:

Florence Biennale gives appointment to 2017, when there will be the twentieth anniversary edition that will be full of important innovations.
