A homage to Harley-Davidson

The prestigious award, “Lorenzo il Magnifico”, the highest recognition of the Florence Biennale, will be given to the Harley-Davidson, as a homage to the outstanding talent in the motorcycles field. It is dedicated to the Harley-Davidson team for it’s continuous technological development in one of the most actual expressions of life. The Biennial wants to propose to the public the great functionality and professionalism of the daily work of the Harley-Davidson’s team. After their hundred years anniversary in 2003, the Harley-Davidson has presented the last model with great success, introducing as always clean aesthetics that had always overcome the previous models. For over 40 years, Willie G, as he is friendly called, has directed the Harley-Davidson Styling Department and contributes the development of the sound, image, life-style that are part of the classical original of the most famous American motorcycle in the world. Some of them had become icons as Electra Glide, Fat Boy and the recent V-Rod, awarded with many design prizes. The result Harley-Davidson’s model is to concentrate style and force in the movement along the road.

Willie G. Davidson

Senior Vice President of Styling Harley-Davidson Motor Company Willie G. Davidson Product Development Center Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Willie G Davidson, graduated from the Art College of Design in Los Angeles, is the grandson of the Harley-Davidson founder, he has changed it’s image creating a world wide known legend. Thanks to his successful studies and talent in the motorcycle design, Willie G. Davidson has won many award like the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) and the Motorcycle Design Association (MDA). His artistic vision and passion for travelling had made him a legend between the Harley-Davidson’s fans around the world. Ambassador of the company, he is always present at the meeting with his wife Nancy. To celebrate the 100 years Willie G, has published a book “Hundred Years of Harley-Davidson”. Recently he has been nominated Senior Vice President and Chief Styling Officer.
