An award to Richard Anuszkiewicz

The artist Richard Anuszkiewicz, has exhibited his artwork in the fifth edition of the Florence Biennale. During his conference he reviewed the fundamental steps of his career. Through the projection of images he explained the different techniques used in the creation of his artworks. The President of the Biennale, Pasquale Celona awarded the founder of the Optical Art, Richard Anuszkiewicz, with "Lorenzo il Magnifico" career award.

The role of Richard Anuszkiewicz in the Op Art during 60's, was fundamental. The artist continued to explore the visual psychology of the intensity of colour and the repetitive geometrical configuration. He was born in Erie , Pennsylvania and studied with Josef Albers at Yale University.

His paintings and sculptures have been awarded several times and exhibited in the most important museums around the world. His artworks are present in the permanent collections of Corcoran Art Gallery in Washington , DC , in the Whitney Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
