The “Lorenzo il Magnifico” for Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 for photography and cinematographic art will be presented to Mario Carbone, master of neo-realism, whose work addresses a wide range of social issues. Winner of the “Silver Ribbon” in 1959 and 1964, in 1967 he won the “Silver Lion” at the Venice Biennale with the documentary Firenze, novembre 1966, an extraordinary testimony of the tragic flood in Florence in 1966.

The Florence Biennale confers to Mario Carbone the “Lorenzo il Magnifico” Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 for his outstanding achievements in using photography as a medium to represent and document historic events while shedding light on a vast array of social and political themes and, not least, exploring the world of art.
